The Slocan Ramblers

Blueberry Music Festival - Slocan Ramblers

Having been featured on the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and being recognized by both the International Bluegrass Music Association (2020 “Momentum Band of the Year Award”) and the Juno Awards (2019 “Traditional Roots Album” Nominee) The Slocan Ramblers are a continually evolving bluegrass band.

Rooted in tradition with fearless creativity and possessing a bold, dynamic sound, The Slocan Ramblers have become a leading light of today’s dramatic, acoustic music scene. With energetic live shows, impeccable musicianship, and an uncanny ability to convert everyone within earshot into a lifelong fan, The Slocan Ramblers—Frank Evans (banjo and vocals), Adrian Gross, (mandolin) and Darryl Poulsen (guitar and vocals) with Charles James (bass)—have been winning over audiences for years.

From classic vocals arrangements, to John Hartford-inspired lyrical musings buttressed by impeccable musicianship and emotionally raw, original songwriting, The Slocan Ramblers are favoured by local audiences having appeared locally many times including at Blueberry in 2018 and RiverCity this past January. This is bluegrass roots music without pretension, art powerful enough to cut through the fog of the past and chart a more hopeful course forward for everyone.
