Jackson Hollow
The inimitable sound of Jackson Hollow must be experienced to be described. Four of the finest from British Columbia have created a traditional bluegrass blend of heart-wrenching lead vocals and dead-on harmonies backed by instrumental talent. Their fresh approach to modern bluegrass is certain to impress at Blueberry.
With a voice that “stops traffic”, the group’s co-founder is lead vocalist Tianna Lefebvre, a 4-time BC Country Music Association Award winner, including Female Vocalist of the Year and the Horizon Award winner. The band’s fiddle and mandolin player—and co-founder of this husband and wife-led band—is Mike Sanyshyn, who holds four Provincial Fiddle Champion titles as well as CCMA and BCCMA Fiddle Player of the Year.
Rounding out Jackson Hollow are Charlie Frie’s upright bass whose vocals lay a soulful foundation for the band’s effortless harmonies, while Eric Reed (guitar/banjo) adds a traditional sound through his seasoned background as a multi-instrumentalist.
Jackson Hollow have won the BC Country Music Association Gaylord Wood Traditional Country Award four times. Their IBMA International Showcase performance garnered the interest of Mountain Fever Records, a Virginia-based bluegrass label. Their singles receive considerable airplay alongside an impressive debut album Roses released in 2023. Jackson Hollow continue to build their appeal through an authentic and timeless sound that connects with people across generations and borders.
Nominated for two Canadian Folk Music Awards this year as well as a JUNO, we all look forward to this up-and-coming band’s Blueberry debut in 2024.
