9th Ave All Stars
9th Ave All Stars is a bluegrass band grown from a residency gig at the Ironwood Stage and Grill in Calgary. The band is comprised of four well-known Alberta musicians:
Fred Mallette- a veteran of Calgary and area folk clubs, music festivals, and pubs, Fred plays some of the finest bluegrass banjo in western Canada.
Al LaMonaca- a roots music and bluegrass regular on the Calgary music scene for decades having played guitar, banjo, and Dobro in acoustic bands, duos, and trios including Wheatland County, Hothouse Bluegrass, Stray Dawgs, and Rock Bottom.
Dale Ulan- a doghouse specialist who also doubles as
a recording engineer and electronics specialist having produced many albums for local and regional roots artists.
Bruce Rohn- a road veteran having toured with regional country performers, a frequent local performer at bluegrass club concerts, a jam hound at festivals, and a local fiddle wizard.
